Highlights from the Dream It! Do It! Virginia Engineering Technology Summer Camp at Patrick Henry Community College
Highschool students explore manufacturing, engineering and design careers in a "Timely" fashion.
"I want to be a product designer. Here, I am learning skills that will help me in my future career."
"I thought this would be a great idea to step my foot in the door a little bit and see what engineering is like and where it can take me in the world."
"I'm a big sucker for Legos as a kid, so this is kind of taking me back."
Dalton Idea Center, Martinsville VA- Martinsville and Henry County high school students are taking part in the Dream It! Do It! Virginia Engineering Technology Camp at Patrick Henry Community College. Students worked individually and in teams to design and build their own unique product.
As part of this experiential learning process, students built a router to use for this challenge: designing and producing a clock using any of the machines and materials at PHCC's Fab Lab.
The winning team of the clock design competition received two free months at PHCC's Fab Lab to design and manufacture anything they choose.
